The Training
The specialsport-team trains every saturday at 10 am to 11 am, at Ahmadu Bello University gym.
The sport is mixed, shifting between football, basketball and Athletic.
The children will recive a small snack during training, but must bring drinking-water and wear comfortable clothes to suit the weather.

Soprinye and Busola are the specialsport teamleaders and are in charge of all correspondance with the families and the volunteering coaches.

How it all began
In Zaria, Kaduna state in Nigeria, we started supporting local volunteers in starting up sportsactivities for children with special needs and disabilities, in the spring 2023.
Soprinye Chatta is the volunteering founder of the team and have gone through our international specialsport education and learned how to build, train and support both clubs and families in the specialsport areena.
The Children and their training
The training is always planned according to the individual needs of the children. We comply to the methods and learnings from Specialsport Denmark and the sportstraining program that we are licensed in.
We use visual ‘board maker’ material, Time Timer and thight structure – but at the same time, we make small changes allong the way.
The goal for each training is that every child goes home happy and with the feeling of being a succes, together with teammates.
The learnings of the sports comes second!
